This weekend saw Hilton College complete final preparations for the impending Winter sports season that commences next weekend with the first fixture being against Westville Boys High School here at Hilton College on Saturday, 17 March.
The rugby coaches enjoyed a coach the coaches session presented by Ian McIntosh, whilst the boys were introduced to the new High Performance Team that has been set up at the School to assist in a more professional approach to sport.
This session was followed by a coaching session run by the SA Rugby Legends which included Ian McIntosh, Pieter Muller, Dieter Kriese, Sasha Marot, Brent Moyle, Neil Cole, Andile Nyembezi, Hentie Maartens and Wayne Fyvie (both Hilton College Old Boys).
Thereafter the Hilton 1st XV played a touch rugby game against the legends and the Hilton 2nd XV played touch against an Old Boys team which included former Shark Brad MacLeod-Henderson and former Leeds Rhino player Ryan Walker.
The winter sports camp concluded with a team building session presented by African Djembe and motivational speaker Danny Petersen. Watching five hundred plus boys on the African Djembe drum was quite spectacular.
