Guy Houston, a Grade 9 pupil from Grace College, was placed first and second during the SANESA (South African National Equestrian School Association) KZN eventing show recently. Guy has proven to be a skilful rider and we wish him all the best for future events.
The Hilton College Science Department is pleased to announce that our team of four have progressed into the final round of the iThink Challenge. The boys have been competing against a number of other schools across the country via an online format. The finals will be held in Cape Town on the week-end of 1 September and Hilton College will be competing against two other schools.

Worlds View Conservancy covers just of 1000 ha with its borders from Celtis Road to Clarendon and Old Howick Road to Boughton, Prestbury. Our aim is to conserve and maintain the total environment in the Conservancy and restore the natural biodiversity of flora and fauna and the eradication of invasive alien vegetation.
On Saturday, 11 August, an inter-school athletics was held at Hilton College with DHS, St Charles, Michaelhouse and Westville Boys' competing. There were some notable performances with the following boys being named athletes of the day.
Just some of the approximately 300 people who participated in the first Laddsworth Night Relay and Walk on Friday evening. Runners, walkers, toddlers in prams and even a gran being pushed in a wheelchair took to the lanes of Hilton with torches, head lamps and glow sticks to enjoy exercising by the light of the full moon. It was also a blue moon, the second full moon in a calendar month. The success of the fund-raising event means it is set to become an annual event, a

There are fun runs and sponsored walks, and then there is something completely different: A night relay race and walk by the light of the full moon.
Sheelagh Antrobus from African Conservation Trust was invited to speak to the school about rhino poaching in February this year. We were informed about their drive to raise funds by skydiving. The minimum amount needed per skydiver was R5 000. She challenged our girls to support this worthy drive. The school had already raised funds for the organisation and their cause through a civies day.

Pupils at Laddsworth Primary School in Hilton recently held a Denim for Diabetes Day to raise funds for the SA Diabetes Association. Pupils were allowed to wear denims to school in exchange for bringing a R5.00 donation and receiving a sticker that read "Denim for Diabetes".
On Friday 10 August Matthew Gearing and Kyle Schoonbee received their SA Rowing blazers as members of the SA U 19 Rowing team which will be competing in the Junior World Rowing Championships in Plovidiv in Bulgaria, over the next two weeks.
HiltonVillage.co.za has received a letter advising that a thoroughfare between Sundale Drive and Groenekloof Road in Hilton, which has been used by cyclists, walkers, joggers and domestic workers for many years has been blocked.
